Entertainers pop up on courses, stages

Everyone loves a clown, a band, a musician, even a juggler.

Entertainment at the Crim includes professional entertainers such as Mitch Ryder, who will perform at noon Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006, on the main stage at The Flint Journal Post Race Party. (That party takes place on the lot at Saginaw and First streets.)

Also slated to perform on the stage is DJ Craig Center.

Along the route, runners and walkers will find entertainers such as a choir that will perform for the 10th year in a row to inspire runners. . Listen and learn more about the gospel group in our slideshow.

You'll also find entertainers within the races and walks. Planning to return is Riley P. McLincha, who has run in the first 29 10-Mile Road Races. A few years ago, he decided that having fun instead of pushing himself was a better way to finish the Crim. Many have come to know the Wizard of Clio for his drubbling. Look at this slideshow for inspiration.

Look in Your Tales for photographs of others who popped up in previous races and along the sidelines. (Send us your favorite photos and tales, too.)
